Welder

We are currently recruiting Welders for our client in Windsor, ON. These are FULL-TIME positions that operate on a steady Days OR Afternoons schedule. These are temporary to permanent positions, meaning there is a chance to get hired on directly with the company.

Position Summary:
The position of Welder includes, but is not limited to aluminum production welding, service & repair welding, prototype building, and fitter welding. Responsibilities will include repairs, the fabrication of custom prototypes from supplied drawings, fabrication of custom jigs and fixtures to produce production parts that meet customer specifications, as well as the fabrication of metal structures using jigs and fixtures in a high paced production environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Welding according to pre-set parameters using MIG welding processes.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW).
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
• Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines.
• Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues.
• Work with the Design department and provide input on manufacturability of designs.
• Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
• Perform other duties as needed.

The successful candidate will have the following experience:

• High school diploma or 2+ years welding experience
• Aluminum welding specifically using the MIG process
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings
• Ability to use and read a tape measure
• Physically able to work in hot, cold, and fast paced environment
• Must be organized, proactive, and maintain a positive attitude in the workplace
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Positive attendance is required
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, an asset but not required
