We are seeking a dedicated Water Distribution Operator to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will perform a variety of field-based duties, including maintenance, system monitoring, and emergency response, while ensuring public safety and service reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on water distribution infrastructure
- Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control plans in accordance with applicable regulations and policies
- Inspect contractor work to ensure compliance with internal standards
- Respond to customer inquiries and service complaints
- Assist with commissioning new infrastructure
- Conduct water sampling and adhere to established sampling protocols
- Perform hot tapping for new service connections and pressure systems
- Locate and repair system leaks
- Troubleshoot and diagnose distribution network issues
- Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience in water distribution or a similar field
- Valid Class D driver’s licence with Z endorsement
- Water Distribution Subsystem Class 1 Certificate (or ability to obtain)
Pay: CA$36.00 per hour
Work Location: Windsor, ON
Type: 3 month contract + ability for an extension
