We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our client’s financial services team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, bookkeeping, and tax preparation, with proficiency in various accounting software. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where accuracy and analytical skills are essential for helping clients optimize their financial outcomes. The Tax Preparer will be responsible for preparing tax returns, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare individual and business tax returns accurately and efficiently using advanced accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other relevant tools
  • Conduct detailed analysis of financial documents to identify deductions, credits, and potential issues
  • Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial records
  • Assist clients with tax planning strategies to optimize their financial position
  • Review financial statements, including accounts payable, payroll, investment reports, and budgeting documents
  • Support auditing processes by providing necessary documentation and insights
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Provide exceptional customer service by explaining complex financial information clearly and professionally

Experience

  • Proven experience in tax preparation, accounting, or bookkeeping roles within financial services or related industries
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and similar platforms
  • Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately
  • Experience with auditing processes, account reconciliation, payroll management, and accounts payable is preferred
  • Knowledge of investment reporting and budgeting processes is a plus
  • Prior experience working with accounting principles and regulatory compliance standards is highly desirable

Type: Contract (2 months)

Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm and Saturday 9:00am – 3:00pm

Pay: $25 – $30/hour
