We are currently recruiting for a Home Health Care Specialist for our client located in Wiarton, ON. This is a full-time position which operates from Monday-Friday on a steady Days schedule.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to help patients improve their functional abilities.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions, such as adaptive equipment, to promote independence and enhance quality of life.
  • Collaborate with other health care professionals, such as physicians, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Educate patients and their families on strategies for managing their conditions and maximizing their independence.
  • Answer phones and schedule appointments assigning appropriate time, date, and location, ensuring the highest level of customer service.
  • Assist patients in finding the proper product per their prescription specifications.
  • Obtain insurance information using standard forms when necessary, contacting insurance companies as needed.
  • Complete and submit billings for patients.
  • Provide care and assistance to individuals off-site in residential settings.
  • Consistently demonstrate a compassionate and patient dementor with all clients.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Knowledge in mobility devices such as wheelchairs, roll aiders, walkers, crutches, chairlifts, grab bars, and brace fitters.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience with the Assistive Device Program (ADP) is an asset.
  • Certification as an Orthotic Fitter is an asset.
  • Prior experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with acute care procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks such as operating medical equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • The ability to commute or relocate to Wiarton, ON.
  • The ability to commute to and from client homes to evaluate medical equipment needs.
  • G license and the ownership of a personal vehicle.

  • OTR Certificate
