We are currently recruiting a Biologist/Chemist for our client in Leamington. This is a FULL TIME position being hired on directly with the company.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct research and literature reviews to study insect biology, behavior and management.
- Collect specimens and manage specimen banks.
- Create cultures and mass-produce beneficial bacteria, viruses, and fungus
- Research and trial chemical formulations
- Research, develop, and implement Standard Operating Procedures and protocols for production and work area sanitation
- Establish and maintain cultures in sterilized environment and minimize contamination.
The successful candidate will have the following experience:
- BS in entomology, chemistry, biology, microbiology, or related field or equivalent professional experience
- Knowledge of and experience with scientific experimental design and statistical analysis
- Ability to independently identify and establish rearing protocols for select beneficial insects used onsite in our growing operation
- Ability to correct problems and scale capacity in rearing procedures to accommodate internal beneficial insect production demands
- Knowledge of and experience with scientific experimental design, execution, and statistical analysis
- Familiar with standard laboratory practices, procedures and safety protocols
- Familiarity with: Laminar Flow Hood, Centrifuge, Spectrophotometer, pH Meter, Autoclave, Incu-shaker, Microscopes
- Flexibility with working hours
- Excellent team player who is also able to work independently
Pay: $50,000-$80,000/yearly (based on experience)
