Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Apprentice Storekeeper for a 6-month contract opportunity. This hands-on role supports warehouse and inventory operations through the accurate receiving, issuing, tracking, and management of materials and supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Process inventory receipts, issues, returns, and transfers.
  • Receive incoming shipments, unload trucks, inspect materials, and verify accuracy against documentation.
  • Enter and maintain inventory transactions within SAP and other inventory systems.
  • Perform cycle counts, inventory audits, and material reconciliations.
  • Issue materials to operational crews and process requisitions.
  • Assist with scrap inventory management and material recovery.
  • Prepare tools and equipment for shipment as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse, yard, and storage areas.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
  • Valid Class G driver’s licence.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • SAP or inventory management system experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge of safe material handling, storage, and shipping practices.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Schedule

Shifts may vary based on operational requirements and can include:

  • 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Additional Requirements

The successful candidate must be willing to obtain or successfully complete:

  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certification
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Forklift Operator Certification

Rate of Pay

$28.50/hour
