Today we are going to talk about what can make or break your temporary placement: Attitude and Attendance!  Whether it be an administrative placement or a general labour placement, these tips will apply!

  1. Attitude

Your time as a temporary employment is the best time to show your placement how well you work. Show up early, work hard, work over time if needed, be sociable and bubbly. Show up to work every day with a positive attitude and take on whatever comes your way in a positive manner. This will stand out to your supervisors and improve your chances of a permanent hire. Keep a positive attitude throughout your placement, try your very best and you will get the outcome you deserve. Don’t be afraid to ask questions! By asking questions, this shows your supervisors that you are interested and invested in your position and are open to learning more!

  1. Attendance

As a temporary employee attendance is crucial. Make sure you are attending all of your shifts, or giving proper notice if you will be absent. Following proper call-in procedures shows your placement that you respect and acknowledge the procedures that are put in place. It also shows them that you are able to follow direction which is always a good thing! Remember, whenever a full time position becomes available at your placement, they always look to temporary employees to fill that position. No absences will always stand out for a potential permanent hire!
