Question: How do staffing firms work? What do the different types of work mean? Do you charge me for using your services?
We like to consider ourselves an extension of the HR department for every company we work with. They have job openings that they ask us to fill and we look for qualified candidates.
We have many different opportunities ranging from General Labour, Trades, Admin, Accounting, Supervisory, Engineering, etc. Our positions are constantly changing so just because we don’t have a position that may interest you now, we could very well have one tomorrow.
We have 3 different placement types – Temporary/Contract, Temp to Perm or Direct Hire.
- Temporary/Contract – Short term or project based
- Temp to Perm – Think of this as a probationary period with the company. They are looking to hire you on permanently but want to ensure you are a good fit for them.
- Direct Hire – We are simply assisting with finding candidates and once selected, you would be hired on permanently with the company
We do not charge employees any fees; what the company sets your pay rate at is what we pay you 🙂 Instead, we charge the company; think of this as a finder’s fee.
