We are currently recruiting a Temporary Buyer for one of our esteemed clients located in Windsor, ON. This is an in-person, temporary contract with an expected duration of 1 month with the possibility of extension.
The Buyer assists and supports users throughout the organization by preparing, summarizing, and evaluating quotes for material and services, and assists with stockroom inventory.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Receive purchase requisitions from operating departments. Prepare, evaluate, and summarize quotations/tenders according to the purchasing policy.
- Process daily queue of purchase requisitions generated by SAP Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
- Place replenishment orders with vendors to maintain stores inventories at established levels.
- Troubleshoot any inventory discrepancies with the assistance of Warehouse Supervisor.
- Expedite critical delivery orders and/or past due orders with vendors to prevent delays in operations services/materials needs.
- Receive, analyse and resolve discrepancies that cannot be processed by accounts payable.
- Host meetings and interview vendor representatives to discuss ongoing performance and/or new alternate products available on the market.
- Conduct market research on behalf of the operating departments for alternate vendors or required goods and services.
- Regular maintenance of records pertaining to RMS, MSDS sheets, vendor insurances and WSIB clearance certificates to ensure due diligence with respect to risk management matters and compliance to our terms and conditions of purchase.
- Daily faxing of all requests for quotation, purchase orders, vendor contract documents, filing vendor acknowledgements, as well as other relevant documents.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three technical Supply Chain Management courses from a post-secondary institution.
- 2-3 years of similar or related experience.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently.
- Knowledge of inventory procedures.
- Efficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- SAP knowledge would be an asset.
Wage: $27.18/hr
Schedule: 8am-4:30pm
