We are currently recruiting a Sous Chef for a Banquet Hall in Windsor, ON. This is a full-time position. This position is a direct hire with the company.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan and develop innovative menus, ensuring a balance of flavors, textures, and presentation.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, maintaining consistency and adhering to recipe guidelines.
- Monitor food quality and taste, making adjustments as needed to ensure the highest standards are met.
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plate presentation.
- Organize and supervise the kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain a cohesive team.
- Enforce food safety and hygiene standards to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to manage kitchen inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing wastage.
- Maintain effective communication channels with the kitchen staff, front-of-house team, and management.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement and service, to ensure smooth operations.

- Conduct regular inspections and training to maintain a safe work environment.
The successful candidate will have the following experience:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or culinary establishment.
- Excellent culinary skills and a passion for cooking, along with a thorough understanding of various cooking techniques and food presentation.
- Strong leadership and supervisory abilities to guide and inspire the kitchen team.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Creativity in menu development and the ability to adapt to different dietary requirements.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
- A culinary degree or relevant certifications would be a plus.
