We are currently recruiting a Shunter Driver for our automotive based client in Windsor, ON. This is a FULL-TIME position operating on a steady Afternoons shift. This position is temp-to-perm, meaning there is a possibility to get hired on directly by the client.  

The Shunter Driver will be responsible for handling, moving, loading, and unloading small and large trucks using a variety of handling equipment. The primary responsibility will be moving large trailers in and out of the docks, around the yard, and back and forth amongst locations.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operate industrial trucks, tractors, loaders and other equipment to transport materials to and from transportation vehicles and loading docks and to store and retrieve materials in warehouses. 
  • Operate winches and other loading devices to load and unload materials onto and off trucks, and loading docks of warehouses and industrial establishments  
  • Ensure all Health & Safety rules and guidelines are observed. 
  • Complete all documentation accurately.  
  • Ensure cleanliness and good housekeeping practices. 
  • Transport racks between nearby facilities. 
  • Store products in the designated areas. 
  • Willing to work overtime / weekends when required. 
  • Report unsafe equipment conditions to supervisors. 
  • Other duties as directed by Supervisors or Manager. 
  • May perform other activities, such as opening containers and crates, filling warehouse orders, assisting in taking inventory and weighing and checking materials.  

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience of operating a shunt truck. 
  • Valid Class A Driver’s License.
  • Clean Driving Record.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to work alone as well as with a team.
  • Positive Attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
     

Wage: $24.00/hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3:30PM-12:00AM
