Production Technician

We are seeking Production Technicians in Lethbridge County to join our team immediately upon completion of pre-employment screening. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in both warm and cold environments and capable of lifting up to 50lbs throughout the day. This role provides support in production operations and may involve minor preventative maintenance and repairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform conditioning, repair, and maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Handle receiving, storage, and conditioning activities such as cleaning, sizing, treating, packaging, palletizing, wrapping, and sampling.
  • Operate forklifts safely for shipping/receiving, inventory management, and warehouse tasks.
  • Maintain compliance with quality plans and work instructions.
  • Accurately complete required documentation such as safety, quality, and inventory records.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required) for consideration for permanent roles.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying temperature environments.
  • Willingness to learn forklift operation (experience preferred).
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain records.
  • Strong communication, reliability, and adaptability.
  • Ability to pass a background check prior to start.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the work site.
Preferred Experience:
  • Two-year agricultural diploma or related field (preferred but not required).
  • Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, light industrial, or seed cleaning/handling is an asset.
  • Knowledge of production agriculture is a plus.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
PPE is provided, excluding CSA-approved steel-toe boots (required). Other PPE includes:
  • Leather gloves
  • Safety glasses
  • Hearing protection
  • Hi-visibility safety vest
  • Long-sleeve shirts for seed handling
  • Hard hat (provided)

Job Type: Full Time, Contract

  • Rotating 8-hour shifts (Every 2 weeks):
    • Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM ($23.00/hour)
    • Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM ($26.00/hour with $3.00/hour shift premium)
    • Overnight Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM ($25.00/hour with $2.00/hour shift premium)
  • Optional Overtime and occasional Saturday shifts during peak seasons
  • Weekly pay, every Friday

Contract Length: 8 months
