We are currently recruiting a Materials Coordinator for our client in Staples, ON. This is a temporary FULL TIME position with no definitive end date.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Independently plan and execute the operational logistics of materials within the facility.
- Oversee the seamless flow of goods from the moment dry goods arrive to the moment the are moved to production areas.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize flow of goods processes, storage, inventory, etc.
- Collaborate with production supervisors/managers to ensure production runs efficiently.
- Ensure production schedules align with materials requirements and business objectives.
- Maintain meticulous tracking of inventory levels for materials essential to production.
- Conduct regular counts and coordinate with the purchasing department to optimize stock levels.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date representation of inventory in the NetSuite ERP system.
- Coordinate with various departments, production, sales, Ops, to facilitate the movement of materials.
- Perform typical receiver duties, ensuring efficient inspection, and handling of incoming and outgoing products.
- Record and maintenance required for equipment to ensure safety and minimize risks.
- Conduct daily forklift inspections for safety and risk mitigation.
- Follow established safety regulations, including proper use of signals, seatbelts, scanning guns and other equipment.
- Ensure the ERP system accurately reflects the actual inventory on the floor.
- Receive purchase orders (POs) in the ERP system.
- Utilize NetSuite and other tools for detailed and accurate reporting.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in coordinating materials management activities, with a strong focus on inventory management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or other related field.
- Possess a valid forklift license or be able to acquire one within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
- Familiarity with ERP Systems, particularly NetSuite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration.
- Proficient in using supply chain management software and comfortable with manual record-keeping.
- Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic greenhouse environment.
- Proven experience driving a counter-balance forklift.
- Experience with organized stocking systems.
- Working knowledge of food and safety regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Schedule: 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday
