We are currently recruiting for a Utility/Cutter person for our client in Windsor, ON. This is a FULL-TIME position that operates on a Straight Days schedule. This is a temporary to permanent position, meaning there is a chance to get hired on directly with the company.
Position Summary
The Machine Operator – Utility is required to ensure the safe, efficient operation, cleaning of and running adjustments for their machine(s). Tasks performed will include operating saws, presses and other machinery. The Machine Operator – Utility will be responsible for efficient operation according to established procedures, following all safety protocols and workplace policies.
Responsibilities
- Produce product with an emphasis on quality.
- Operate machinery and make running adjustments as required.
- Provide feedback and maintenance requests to improve machine performance.
- Complete all assigned quality checks.
- Participate in training and cross training, improvement initiatives including health and safety and quality improvement.
- Adhere to all workplace safety rules, policies, and regulations.
- Maintain clean work areas and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and diagrams
- Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings.
- Ability to use and read a tape measure.
- Ability to physically lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be organized, proactive, and maintain a proactive attitude in the workplace.
Experience
- 1 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Experience performing routine maintenance operations
- Experience using hand tools, saws, presses, machinery
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Robotic welding experience is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $18.50 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Supplemental pay types:
- Overtime pay

Education:
- Secondary School (required)
Experience:
- manufacturing: 1 year (preferred)
