We are currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager – Operations to lead HR functions across our Canadian facilities. In this role, you will oversee the entire employee lifecycle, manage day-to-day HR operations, and drive the implementation of HR strategies that support business goals. This is a hands-on leadership position that requires a strategic thinker with a passion for employee engagement, compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. HR Leadership & Employee Relations
- Oversee employee relations, engagement, recruitment, and workforce planning
- Advise leadership on workplace issues and ensure compliance with policies and legislation
- Lead performance management, employee handbook updates, and disciplinary processes
- Develop strategies for internal job postings and onboarding/offboarding procedures
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring and workplace culture
2. Training, Health & Safety, and Compensation Support
- Assist in organizing training sessions and onboarding programs
- Support compensation structure, benefits administration, and incentive programs
- Collaborate with HSE teams to ensure compliance with OHSA and workplace safety regulations
- Mentor and coach HR staff to ensure high levels of customer service and productivity
3. Total Wellbeing & Policy Development
- Contribute to the development and implementation of employee wellbeing programs
- Assist with updating and communicating HR policies aligned with company objectives
4. HR Metrics & Reporting
- Analyze HR data such as turnover, engagement, and training effectiveness
- Prepare dashboards and reports to support workforce planning and strategic decision-making
5. Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Research HR best practices and implement process improvements
- Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with employment legislation
Qualifications:
Education:
- Minimum: College Diploma or University Degree in a related field
- Preferred: CHRP or CHRL designation
Experience:
- Minimum: 5 years of HR management experience
- Preferred: 7+ years in a similar role
Skills & Competencies
Required:
- Knowledge of provincial employment legislation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
Preferred:
- HSC Certification
- Experience in high-pressure environments
- Familiarity with TS16949/IATF 16949, OHSA, and environmental compliance
- Proven ability to build trust and long-term working relationships
Working Conditions:
- Office-based role with regular visits to production areas
- Personal protective equipment must be worn when on the shop floor
- Occasional travel required
- Valid Driver’s License required
