We are currently recruiting a Head Chef for our client in Kingsville, ON. This is a full-time position. This position is a direct hire with the company.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Oversee all kitchen operations, from menu creation to staff management and overall food preparation. This role requires an experienced leader who is passionate about food quality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
- Menu Development: Design and update seasonal menus, ensuring a balance of creativity, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with our restaurant’s vision and clientele preferences.
- Kitchen Management: Supervise kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and prep cooks. Schedule shifts, train new employees, and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Food Quality & Safety: Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards and adhere to food safety regulations. Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
- Inventory & Ordering: Manage inventory levels, forecast needs, and place orders for ingredients and supplies. Maintain budgetary control and minimize waste.
- Recipe Development: Create and refine recipes to maintain the restaurant’s high standards. Experiment with new ingredients and techniques to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
- Customer Experience: Address customer feedback and concerns regarding food quality and presentation. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
- Team Leadership: Inspire and mentor the kitchen team, setting clear goals and expectations. Provide constructive feedback and support professional development.
The successful candidate will have the following experience:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or similar leadership role in a high-volume restaurant. Minimum of 10 years of culinary experience required.
- Exceptional culinary skills with a deep knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and global cuisines. Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Culinary Arts degree, Red Seal Certification, or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Food safety certification (e.g., Food Handler Certification) is required
- Passion for culinary arts and a keen eye for detail in food presentation and taste.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
