We are currently recruiting for a Financial Services Clerk for our client in Amherstburg. This is a full time position (37.5 hrs. per week) 8:30am-4:30pm . There is the opportunity to get hired on directly with the company.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for various accounting duties within the Finance department
  • Collection, recording and reconciliation of payments for property tax, water and other general cash receipts over the counter and through mail on a timely basis
  • Process and reconcile Utility Billings in accordance with set schedule.
  • Process and reconcile Accounts Receivable
  • Process and reconcile Accounts Payables
  • Prepare and reconcile bank accounts
  • Process HST remittances and payments
  • Support payroll processing and reconciliations
  • General account analysis and reconciliations
  • Assist in year-end audit preparation including preparation of supporting schedules as required
  • Understand and adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Perform other related duties as required within the Financial Services Department


The successful candidate will have the following experience:

  • 2 year College diploma or degree in accounting, business or commerce
  • Recognized certification such as PCP through the Canadian Payroll Association is an asset
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in an accounting related position
  • Experience in a computerized environment with accounts payable, purchase orders,
  • payroll, accounts receivable, utility billing, property taxes, cash receipting and general accounting
  • Experience with municipal property taxes, utility billing and payroll is considered an
  • asset
  • Intermediate accounting skills

Rate of Pay: $27.97 to $30.20 per hour Depending on Experience
