We are currently recruiting for a Financial Services Clerk for our client in Amherstburg. This is a full time position (37.5 hrs. per week) 8:30am-4:30pm . There is the opportunity to get hired on directly with the company.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for various accounting duties within the Finance department
- Collection, recording and reconciliation of payments for property tax, water and other general cash receipts over the counter and through mail on a timely basis
- Process and reconcile Utility Billings in accordance with set schedule.
- Process and reconcile Accounts Receivable
- Process and reconcile Accounts Payables
- Prepare and reconcile bank accounts
- Process HST remittances and payments
- Support payroll processing and reconciliations
- General account analysis and reconciliations
- Assist in year-end audit preparation including preparation of supporting schedules as required
- Understand and adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Perform other related duties as required within the Financial Services Department
The successful candidate will have the following experience:
- 2 year College diploma or degree in accounting, business or commerce
- Recognized certification such as PCP through the Canadian Payroll Association is an asset
- 2 to 3 years’ experience in an accounting related position
- Experience in a computerized environment with accounts payable, purchase orders,
- payroll, accounts receivable, utility billing, property taxes, cash receipting and general accounting
- Experience with municipal property taxes, utility billing and payroll is considered an
- asset
- Intermediate accounting skills
Rate of Pay: $27.97 to $30.20 per hour Depending on Experience
